Revd Canon Nigel Davies

Revd Canon Nigel Davies
   Rural Dean
Vicar of St Oswalds, Burneside

Nigel has been Vicar of Burneside for nearly 16 years. In addition to his parish work during the years he has been involved with CBDTI; Diocesan Youth Committee; editor of the Diocesan News and member of Communications Group; Kendal Deanery representative on Diocesan Synod; and a member of the Friends’ of Rydal Hall Committee. The list is slightly shorter than his CD collection, which he has amassed over the years. There are also a couple of Alan Billing’s publications sitting on his bookcase.

Appointed as Rural Dean to Kendal in September 2003 he is genuinely excited about the on-going Team Initiative in the Deanery and delighted to be a member of the Beacon Group as it moves to being a ‘Team’ in the fullest sense of the word. Working collaboratively clergy and laity together is in his view the best way for the church to meet the challenges of Post Modernity. He was made an Honorary Canon of Carlisle Cathedral in July 2006.
