Fight Poverty this Christmas with a big sing!
From 11-13 December, people will be meeting in their churches, community centres or even train stations to sing their favourite Christmas hits and help Christian Aid raise £100,000 for millions of people around the world trapped in poverty. Christian Aid urges: “Get your friends round for karaoke, record a sing-a-long video or have a sing-off at your church's Christmas party - however you do it, it's easy to register and great fun!” The focus of Christian Aid’s Christmas appeal this year is the impoverished West Bank, where every penny counts to help improve prospects for young people caught in poverty. Money from the Big Sing will be going to crucial services such as counsellors to rehabilitate traumatised children in the region of Bethlehem. Broadcaster and singer Aled Jones says: “Do a duet, have a Christmas croon, or murder a melody, Christian Aid's Big Christmas Sing is about having fun - and helping raise money for a great cause.” For more details on holding a Big Christmas Sing, visit www.christianaid.org. uk/bigsing or call 020 7523 2248.
