The Vicarage

It was decided to build a house for the Vicar, close to the church and a committee was set up to take the project through to completion. It met on December 23 1871, appointing Architect Birtley to draw up plans.

It is not known where the Vicar lived in the immediate period following the opening of the church. The Parsonage, as it was first called, was completed and occupied on October 28 1876.

The land on which it stands was given by Mr T Rogers of Greenside, near Milnthorpe.
